The days destination? The West Hollywood Library to get my membership before the new library opens. Read as many books as you can possibly imagine for free, no need to find a place to store it when you're through with it, AND the online catalog system allows you to place a hold on whichever book you want where ever it is at within the County of Los Angeles Library system to whatever branch you want to pick it up from. This little bookworm is in heaven!

Good thing I have the next couple of days off :)

Tennis Anyone?

Last week was soccer in San Diego and this weekend was tennis at UCLA. My friend and tennis enthusiast, Light, took me to the Farmers Classic both Saturday and Sunday. What a treat! I've never been into sports at all but tennis is pretty intense and completely fun to watch. The great seats didn't hurt either ;)

Garage Gypsy

In life, we all look for some sort of arrow to point the way for us...

...unfortunately they're usually not this obvious.

Soccer In San Diego

Dinner in the harbor with our magnificent host, Gill...

...where they served Evian chilled, the only way Marilyn prefers to drink it, lol.

We took the bus to the game...

... a party bus, that is...

...with police escorts of course.

This is Ashley taking a picture of our police escorts, she told me on the way there that she wanted to be more lady-like.

They gave us our tickets and told us not to lose them but nobody even checked them.

We arrived with the team and got to hang out on the field until the game started. The last time I went to a soccer game was to cheer for Marilyn and Lita back in high school.

So happy when I'm with her, my other half, I feel whole xo

The game finally began...

So we headed up to our press suite...

...where there was no shortage of hotdogs, chili...

... and pizza.

The game was off to a slow start...

...so we practiced various fashion techniques like the roll-up.

The last half of the game was fantastic. Real Madrid 3: Chivas 0. Back to the bus for celebratory shots.

Then back off the bus to watch the super sexy Madrid players go thru security and load their bus right next to ours. Seeing them made Marilyn excited for her upcoming trip to Europe, particularly Spain.

They got invited back to the Beverly Hills Hotel to hang out with the players...

...but we stayed in town and went out to Side Bar to party with some familiar faces instead.

There was lots of Cristal, Belvedere and my fave, Black Label (he told me he would have ordered me Blue if he knew I drank scotch too, oh Gill, you really know how to treat a lady!)

The lights came on at the club so we made our way to the pizza place next door with Levi and Sam I Am.

It felt like a cartoon world so of course we began to act silly.

And then our song came on so we had to dance. All I can remember was that everyone kept calling me Red Pants and I kept screaming at them that my pants were orange. For some reason it seemed very important at the time :P

Levi tried to look up our skirts but luckily we were wearing pants. I guess Ashley is already taking a break from trying to be more lady-like, lol.

Of course Sam I Am wanted to play too.

Never a dull moment when I'm out with Marilyn and Ashley, quite the dynamic duo. These girls really do just wanna have fun and we all did exactly that.

Aunts, Birds, and Kittens...

Auntie came to West Hollywood to visit her little brown bird, as she calls me. It was a vicious delicious cycle of eating, walking, and shopping because of course after a meal we would take a walk and then there were shops to be shopped along the way and then we would work up an appetite from walking and shopping and so we would have to stop for a bite to eat and then we would have to take a walk... you get the idea ;)

TUESDAY afternoon she arrived. We walked to Le Pain for some lunch. I showed her around my neighborhood: the newsstand, the nursery, the hardware store... believe it or not she adored my local Koontz hardware store almost as much as I do. Reservations were made for Pizzeria Mozza that night. The meatballs with the pane bianco used for dippage (the act of dipping) was heaven. My aunt continued to mention the salad we had (Nancy's chopped salad) for the duration of the trip so I'm assuming that was her fave. And let me tell you, dessert was no let down either...

WEDNESDAY morning came and off to Runyon Canyon we went. We took the easy route, avoiding the steep steps but I'm not so sure Auntie and I were on the same page about it being barely a hike and more of a little up hill walk. Eventually we made it to the view at the top after being lapped by more than one hiker. After a little lunch at home we were off to The Little Next Door for a flight of rose, some sweet treats and espresso before hitting Rodeo Drive for some window shopping. After a quick change and call for a taxi it was off to dinner at the Chateau Marmont. As the waiter promised, the arancini di riso (risotto balls) and spaghetti bolognese was indeed life changing. Can't wait to go back for more!

My uncle was lucky, Tiffany & Co. was closed.

THURSDAY came way too fast and I couldn't help but dwell on the fact that Auntie was going home the following day. We got up and headed out for a walk and some more shopping. Eyeglasses seemed to be the focus of the day until they all started to look the same. Then it was Ole Henriksen Spa in search of the african red tea exfoliating lip salvation that she read about in one of her fashion magazines. Katy Perry couldn't live without it so neither could she of course. Once we made our way to the spa in Sunset Plaza she couldn't resist the buzz at Le Petite Four. At first I put up a fight but I'm glad I succumbed because I tried the sweet corn soup for the first time and now I have something new to crave. Robertson Boulevard was next on our list for shopping and that's where I discovered a plethora of Car Mar Jeggings in every color at LF (one of my favorite boutiques ever). I'm going for a pair in red or maybe mint or maybe both, in my dreams. After a long day of walking and shopping we decided to go see "Horrible Bosses" since we both think Jennifer Aniston is just fabulous but the movie didn't satisfy our Jen craving so we stopped at In and Out on the way home to satisfy another craving.

I think we tried on every pair of glasses, twice.
We got in trouble for inviting Chloe to join us at the table for lunch.
Chloe doesn't care for concrete.
Taking a break from all the shopping.
Eveleigh on Sunset, too cute! Must check it out soon.
Almost home.

FRIDAY she left me but first we stayed in bed and chatted the morning away. Chloe became The Kitten (we like to nickname things) and then we all took a stroll to Urth for lunch and Kitson for just a bit more shopping.

At Urth where Chloe is welcome at the table.

Blessed am I to have an auntie and best friend like her ;)
